John Visconi Multi-instrumentalist (Guitar, Sax, Keyboard, Trumpet, Latin Percussion, Timpani & Vocals)
John's passion for music performance began playing drums & trumpet in the NJ public school system. After being selected for All Shore Band at 12 years old, Joseph Clouser, the conductor, was impressed with his timpani playing & asked John to join the Garden State Philharmonic Orchestra as principal timpanist. This lead to many years of classical performances with the GSPO & members of the New York Philharmanonic & Philadelphia Orchestras. John studied percussion as a music major at Trenton State College & started playing Latin percussion uner the tutelage of Tony DiNicola (drummer for Harry James & Kenny Davern), as well as other other instruments as part of the curriculum. In order to play more contemporary music, John also formed the band "Harper" which toured the US & Canada, first as the band for "The Flamingos" (2001 inductees in the R&R Hall of Fame) during the mid '70s & subsequently as a heading act. Harper also worked with Mickey Gilley, The Trammps & other notable acts of the 1970s. After touring for a several years, Harper returned to NJ & played up & down the Jersey Shore during the late 70s. Since then John has performed with the Garden State Philharmonic Orchestra, Georgian Court College Wind Ensemble, Ocean Count College Concert Band, New Jersey Chamber Singers, Ocean County College Choir, Imperial Music Center Concert Band, as well as in several contemporary cover bands. John currently performs with "The Next Generation of Soul" (Latin Percussion, Guitar & Vocals), "Contraband" & "Pure McCartney" (Guitar, Keyboards, Sax and Vocals).
Danny Colangelo is a self-taught, in the pocket, hard-hitting drummer and stage performer. Early in life with an ear for music drumming came naturally to him. Seeing this, his father (who also played drums early on) bought Danny a set on which he could learn by playing along with inspiring music of the day such as the Beatles. He started to play with other musicians by 7th grade which eventually led him to the club scene and joining the explosive band 'MAX' in the early 1980's. At that time MAX was playing to full houses 6-nights a week in the tri-state club circuit. As their energetic drummer, Danny honed his craft and developed his live performance stage presence. Danny then branched out to the original music scene playing up and down the east coast. He was the original drummer in 'Dramarama' where he experienced his first airplay and TV exposure. The scene brought him to the NY clubs and additional opportunities developed. Through the years he has shared the stage with many top musicians including, Bob Burger (Blonde Obsession, The Weeklings), Clarence Clemons (Bruce Springsteen), Bobby Bandiera (Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny), Lance Larson (Lord Gunner), Glen Burtnick (Beatlemania, Styx, The Weeklings), just to name a few. This seasoned musician and stage performer is the perfect addition to ‘Pure McCartney’, bringing him back to his roots and playing some of the greatest songs ever written. When he is not 'banging on the drums all day', Danny enjoys working out, bicycling, traveling and spending time with his family and at the beach.
Mark Rudolph - Vocals/Guitar & Keyboards
Growing up in Morgantown WV, the youngest of 5, Mark was exposed to music, specifically The Beatles, at an early age. He would often listen to The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl all the while trying to peel the tickets from the album cover wishing he could be at the concert. A multi-instrumentalist, Mark worked his way through college playing all of the dive bars and clubs in the surrounding area honing his talents and appearing with National acts including Molly Hatchet and Foghat. Once graduating from West Virginia University, Mark decided to move to New Jersey to pursue his original music aspirations. In the early 2000’s things started to fall into place as Mark’s band Krypto-jet was voted the Best Rock Act at the 2001 Asbury Park Music Awards. The band’s single “Drew Barrymore” charted on WHTG 106.3’s Hot 100 list and the band had appeared with many of the National acts touring at the time including: Fountains of Wayne, Sum 41, SR-71, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Marvelous 3 and many others.
